Minnie Mouse 2nd Birthday!!

In a few weeks my sweet baby girl turns TWO and I cannot believe it! She has grown up faster than I can imagine, and has turned into one sweet and sassy little princess!

We figured it was best to celebrate her birthday early, since we don’t know when Baby #2 will decide to show up, and oddly enough, my two sweet chickpeas may end up sharing the same birthday!! That being said, we wanted to make this birthday extra special, and all about Boo. That means tons of sweets, lots of Minnie Mouse, a bounce house, friends, family, and…did I mention tons of sweets? :-)

Take a look at the amazing fun filled day we had in celebrating out precious little girl!

(Food not pictured: Build you own sandwich bar, pasta salad, chips, hummus, and dip.)

Everything was practically hand made at this party, and took WEEKS to prepare for! (This includes the Pinata, which took the LONGEST time of all! Next time…I’m buying one lol!) I spent a lot of nap time hours hot glueing, taping, and cutting to make everything polka dot/Minnie Mouse approved! :)

It was such an amazing experience, and I loved spoiling and showering my little angel with lots of love! Even though by the end of it she was a little tired and cranky, it was such a fun filled day!

(Binky in mouth+tired eyes=Boo needs a nap)

Happy Birthday Baby Boo!! Thank you for making the past two years of my life the best I’ve ever experienced! You are truly a blessing, and keep me smiling every single day! I LOVE you!

This is all so beautiful! After looking at all of these cute decorations, we have decided to do a Minnie Mouse theme for our daughters first birthday….I was wonderIng if you wouldn’t mind sharing with me how you made those adorable pink Minnie Mouse ears in the glass vase. The photo is the one with the cakes in it too. Thanks for any help you can give me.

    • Arielle says:

Hi Katie! Thanks for all your kind words! The Minnie Mouse ears were super easy, I just purchased those styrofoam balls from a craft store and spread glue on them, then sprinkled glitter on them. Then I used large wooden sticks to stick in them to form the shape of the ears! :) Hope that helps!

  23. Stephanie says:

I am currently planning my daughter’s first birthday party and decided to go with the Minnie Mouse theme! I found this on Pinterest, you did an amazing job! Everything is beautiful! One quick question because I seem to be coming up empty handed, where did you find your cups? Every cup I’ve found is either the wrong color or small polka dots, I never would have thought something as simple as party cups would be so difficult! Haha anyway, great work!!

    • Arielle says:

Thanks Stephanie! You are so sweet! Funny thing about those cups :)…I just bought regular pink cups and white circle stickers from walmart! Then I stuck the stickers on the cups. A lot cheaper too :)!

  24. Stephanie Payamps says:

HI I’m planning to do a minnie’s bday party for my daughter’s 2nd bday I wanted to know how much was your budget so I can have an idea, thanks so much

    • Arielle says:

      Hi Stephanie!
I think it all depends on how many people are attending. We had close to 60 people coming, so I had to plan for a lot. I did about 100 bucks on the decorating, and then I had certain family members is charge of food items, like my mom brought the sugar cookies, my mother in law made the sandwiches, etc…Hope that helps! :)

  25. Mercedes Flores says:

Oh my! This is soo adorable! My friend is having her daughter 1st birthday minne mouse themed and she showed me the pinata amd I fell in love! Considering im the crafty mom out of all my friends I accepted the challenge. What did you use to keep the card boards together? Also is that tissue paper or streamers?

  26. Annabeth says:

Looks like it was a great party! My lil Savannah is turning two in June! I was wondering where did you find her outfit with the tutu!!! It is sooo cute!

  27. Kristin says:

SUCH an adorable party! I’m using some of your fabulous ideas for my daughter’s party in April-thanks so much for sharing! One question….where did you get the sequin Minnie ears that your daughter wore?I’d like to get ones just like that for my sweet little lady so her’s are different from the party guests! Thanks!!!! 28. Jussie Minor says:

Absolutely gorgeous! Is there a trick to the icing in the condiment bottles? Seems like it may not come out easily? Thanks!

  29. katrina says:

Beautiful party!! How did you make the ear head bands?

    Thanks!
    Katrina

I’m so inspired by everything that u have created! I’m currently working on my daughter’s 1st bday party n I would live to make the centerpieces that u made… Do u think u can tell me how u made the tulle bow n if u used white crystal glitter or the white colorful one? Ooh n the banner lol too if its possible :) btw everyone that I’ve showed ur pics to have loved them!

    • Arielle says:

Hi Marya! Thanks for your sweet compliments :). The bow was just tulle that I tied in a bow and glued a gem on the middle, and I used pink glitter. The banner was made by my mom, but she cut shapes and used her cricket machine to cut out the letters. Hope that helps :)

  31. Belle says:

Loving this theme! I’m trying to make a similar cake. What did you use for the polka dots on the cakes? I’ve looked for sugar pearls, but they only come in small sprinkle sizes.

  32. Cynthia says:

I found your post and I love everything you did. I am planning my daughters minnie mouse party. I am making mickey mouse cookie and they will be decorating them. What size are your cookie cutters? Where did you get them? Also, not really sure how to organize the frosting and the toppings? Did you give each kid bottle of each color and where did you put the sprinkes(for each kid) . I am not sure how to prepare everything. I am having boys at party so not all sprinkes can be pink. I was thinking red and black also.

    • Arielle says:

      Hi Cynthia!
So excited for you to have a Minnie Mouse Party! The cookie cutters we got were from disneyland, but you could probably find them online at the disney store. As for the frosting, kids came to the table at different times since there were other things going on, so I just put a bunch on the table and people used the ones they wanted. I did the same thing with the sprinkles too. Red and black and even yellow sprinkles would be good for boys, and they could make mickey mouse. If you have the kids do it at the same time, I would give them each a bottle, and maybe a bowl of sprinkles? But they could also all share. Hope that helps!

  33. Mayra S says:

How did u get for the styrofoam ball to stay on the vase?

  34. Sarah says:

Hey, I don’t see the link for the instructions to make the Pinata, can you help me? Thanks.

    • Arielle says:

Hi Sarah! I didn’t post a link because I kind of winged it. But I basically built a 3d object out of cardboard and then stuck crinkled tissue paper all over. There are instructions on pinterest from a lot of blogs too!

  35. Sheby says:

This has to be the cutest party I have ever seen. I am planning my daughters second birthday and she is in love with Minnie Mouse. So, I have been searching everywhere like crazy to find the PERFECT decorations, and thanks to you I have decided to make everything that I can by myself to make it that much more special! Thank you for sharing these beautiful decorations!

    • Arielle says:

You are so sweet Sheby! I was the same way, I was looking everywhere for specific things and I finally said, “I’ll just make it myself!” :) Good luck, would love to see pictures when you are done!!

  36. stephanie says:

How did you make that wreath!! Perfect!

  37. venus says:

This party was amazing. I’m giving.my daughter a minnie mouse party for her 2nd birthday and can’t even come close to this lol but I was wondering where did u get her oufit from?

  38. Amber says:

Hi what great ideas thus was an amazing party!!!!! I was wondering what you used for frosting the cookies? The reg cookie frosting that hardens seems like it would be too thick but the regular frosting doesn’t harden and would make too much of a mess…any insight would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    • Arielle says:

      Hi Amber!
We love using Martha Stewarts recipe for royal icing for sugar cookies. It hardens after a little bit, but it’s thin enough to where you can put it in a squeeze bottle. :) Hope that helps!

  39. Dushawn says:

Hi I love the minnie mouse my daughter birthday coming up how did u do it can u plz tell me

  40. Renee says:

Love it all!! Where did you get the cookie cutters for the sugar cookies? :)

  41. Lauren B says:

I was interested in how you made some things-
How did u do the pink glittery styrofoam balls- did you find them or paint them?

How did you do her banner and all the minnie mouse (w/ bows) cut outs for the plates and things. I am starting to consider buying a cricut since I had make both my kids banners, invitations, etc. and it is so time cnosuming and I hate the fact its not absolutely perfect like a machine would do!

    • Arielle says:

I bought styrofoam balls from a craft store, painted them, then sprayed glue on them, then covered them in glitter :)!

And my mom has a cricket, so we cut out the banner with that. As for the plates, it was all done by hand :)! I love the cricket, I think if you use it enough, it’s worth the investment! :)
