You guys…A totally horrible very bad thing happened this week..
My camera went crazy and stopped working!! This would be okay if I didn’t use the poor gal on a daily basis and take an average of 5000 pictures! My life. Officially Over.
Which is why I’ve been lacking on posts the past week because I’ve got a horrible camera phone and it just DOESN’T do pictures justice…No matter how many istagram filters I use… So I bit the bullet yesterday and decided to VLOG. Yes you heard me right..VLOG..Remember that whole Footage Friday thing?? Yea me neither. What happened to that?!
Ok so long story short I filmed a Vlog all about my review of LES MILLS PUMP…and guess what. I trashed it. Not because my voice sounded like a mouse, or because I looked like a vampire from twilight. BUT because my hair looked greasy. Honestly…I’ve got issues. But it bugged me so much that all I wanted to do was wash my hair…(Which still hasn’t happened)…
So I hate to say it but you guys will have to deal with a little bit of instagram and iphone photos for a little bit. OR until I wash my hair and film a blog. Honestly…Don’t know which one will come first…
So where do I begin? First let me throw this out that I finished this program well, kind of a while back but also kind of recently. It’s been a crazy summer, so I had to put the program on hold a lot during out of town trips. But now that I have officially finished it, I really want to share with you guys my opinions of the workout program!
Why did I choose Les Mills Pump? For starters it was because I live in Las Vegas and it’s 110 on a good day. My out door runs and stroller adventures with the girls had come to an end and I needed something I could do indoors. Gyms were out of the question since It wasn’t in our budget, so whatever I could do needed to be done with the kids at home.
My cousin introduced it to me, and sparked the interest in me a while back. I’ve never done a ‘challenge’ workout before, I’ve always just kind of skipped to the beat of my own drum. I wanted to do something new and exciting that I had never tried!
When I first started the workout I was pretty skeptical. I’ve never done weights before so I was worried I was going to bulk. I’ve already got bigger thighs and a bum, and I didn’t need them looking any bigger .
My very first workout I knew that I was going to love it. It was quick and the multiple reps kept it fun and keeping you from being bored. I LOOOOVED the squats! 4-5 minutes of squats with weights had my legs feeling like jello but I enjoyed it!
I also like how it’s not an everyday thing. I tend to get ‘bored’ quickly and I enjoyed how there were days in between for walking/running, yoga, and abs. Speaking of Yoga..I have never been a huge fan of yoga and now I am IN LOVE. After working my body out and firing up my muscles, it was SOO nice to stretch them and relax them. I can’t tell you how good it felt! I’ve never experienced that with yoga before. Made me think I am working out all wrong…
If you are an excelled in your level of fitness, I would say that the first couple of weeks might seem slow. I’m not in excellent shape but after a little bit I wanted it to pick up somewhat. But alas…It does and then you want it to slow down.
One thing I noticed was how soar I was, and at times it wasn’t in a good way. I’ve always had neck and back issues, especially since pregnancy, so if I wasn’t careful I would be in a lot of pain. Which is why during the exercises where the bar rested on the shoulders, I would either hold the weights by my side or use both hands and hold the weight close to my chest. I noticed after that I didn’t have a problem with pain. This brings me to the weight amount. Through out the whole program I used practically only the 5 lbs. and rarely the 10. If I used anything more on like shoulders or back, I would hurt myself. So I would say be careful with how you hold the weights, and the amount you are using. Pushing yourself to much could possibly cause an injury.
The last con I had was with the length of the videos. I actually don’t think this is a negative thing towards Les Mills Pump, because it could happen during any workout at home…But during the end of the program some of the videos are an hour long. If I’ve got 2 kids up and running, I usually have a hard time having 25 minutes. So an hour proved to be tough. It got a little easier when the baby napped, but I definitely had to time my workouts right, and try and squeeze them in before the kids were up or when my husband was home.
Did I see a difference? YES YES and YES!! But I am totally the WORST person and didn’t take a picture to prove it. Overall my weight went down a little but my BODY WAS TONED!! Let me be clear that I’ve been a lover of exercise for a while, but I have never seen my body toned like this. NO BULK! My legs looked leaner and more fit and my BUTT…OMG you guys…It got smaller!
WOULD I do it again?
I definitely know that I will do this program again. I don’t think I’ll do it for a while though because I want to try other exercise programs, but I know that I will definitely include it in my weekly workouts.
For example, I can definitely see myself using one of the Pump DVD’s once or twice a week to help me tone and keep toned!
I would recommend this to mom’s! Or anyone that can’t go to a gym or get out side to workout. And I would especially recommend this to anyone that wants to tone and tighten. Also, to anyone that wants to challenge them self with a workout they have never tried before.
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone with serious back, knee, or neck injuries.
I truly loved it! It changed my opinion on weights, and I’m not afraid anymore to use them. I love light weights with a lot of reps! It was something fun and challenging that I had never tried before, and I really do feel like my fitness level went up!
I would love to hear the feedback from those who have done it and if they tried it!!
Did you love it or hate it?
