Happy New Year Friends!!
I just LOVE the feeling of having a fresh start! For some reason there is just a comfort that comes a long with starting over and doing things BETTER than before, right?!
Today is DAY 1 // Step 1 on the series of,
Does anyone remember ONE Year ago I talked a lot about Being Consistent?!? Well I’m bringing it up again, because I truly truly believe it is the most important thing when starting a Healthier Lifestyle….
But more on that later.
The First Step to starting a Healthier Lifestyle is all about making Small Choices (consistently).
How many of you have tried to loose weight every new year?
You buy all the healthy food at the grocery store, you plan on working out every day for an hour and a half, and you stop completely drinking soda and eating chocolate cake.
By day three you are over it, and you are back to where you started! Taking on TOO much of Something NEW is never a good thing!
That’s why when making the switch to living a healthier lifestyle, make it a small, consistent, and steady switch!
The LAST thing I want you to do is go out and spend hundreds just on food that eventually you might never eat! So start small!
Exercise has always been one of the most challenging areas, for me, and I’ve definitely learned if I take on too much pressure, I automatically give up!
START SMALL! Walk, don’t run. Gradually you will see that your ability to push yourself will grow, and then before you know it you will be running farther & longer!
Now…How will all this work?
I’m going to bring you back to the beginning of this post where we talked about being CONSISTENT. I can’t talk enough about how important consistency plays into developing habits! :).
The main thing I want you to get out of this post is,
As long as you are consistently making small and simple healthy choices at least once a day, you will begin to see a change!
Even if all you do is drink lots of water that day, that’s amazing!
Or it’s 10 o clock at night and you haven’t worked out at all so you quickly do 15 pushups, that’s great! You are being consistent!
